First principles

Welcome to The Maka Way … new site coming soon for that initiative.

First Principles:

THE FEET

1.). If we think about it from a physical perspective the FEET are a place for us to start. From the bottom up they are where we need to start our thinking.  The feet are the only things of our body in contact with the ground, floor, the Earth.

THE MIND

2.). From there, if we think from the top down, then the brain, the mind, our head, our thinking—the “command senter” is where we need to start our thinking.

From here, we can pretty much go anywhere… below these are in random order.  All principles or topics equally hold their own weight.  All are important in and of themselves but as with any living organism;  for it to thrive there need to be many things in line, balanced, and working together.  If one thing is off or out of whack, the whole house of cards — so to speak can come tumbling down.  You feel me?

3.). Breathing.  This is a relatively new principle for us to be a foundational topic and we will dive into this more later.

4.) THE GUT / The GI Track / FOOD / The Immune System all could be linked here for a discussion of their inter-relatedness

5.) Movement, Exercise, Fitness.

6.). Giving

7.) Faith

8.). Human Connection / Community / Tribe / Support System / FAMILY

9.). Passion / Occupation

Handstands #1

Handstands #1

No gym or gear required…

Handstands & other types of inversions are becoming more popular both Nationally and Globally which is really cool!

To get started though you need some type of a roadmap or a series of progressions so you move forward with no issues or road blocks in the future.

The best place to start when beginning anything on the hands is to stretch & build the wrists.

In the video you will see a few wrist stretches, four main ones you can do to progress forward.
